Practical Nursing Program
Practical Nursing is a
1,200-hour program for high school seniors
and adults. The curriculum includes fundamentals
of nursing, growth and development, community
health, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, math,
phlebotomy, medical terminology, pharmacology, and
medication. It explores emergency care, EKG,
geriatrics, maternity nursing, medical surgical
nursing, pediatric nursing, and mental health.
Students also learn office practical skills,
communication skills, and computer applications.
Clinical field experiences are a required
component of the curriculum. The program stresses
professional standards, integrity, academic
excellence, and the human side of nursing.
