Mission Statement

The Language and Culture Resource Center focuses on initiatives that increase the language proficiency, language diversity, and cultural awareness of the students in our component districts.

We achieve this mission by:

  1. coordinating instructional initiatives through Itinerant Services and the Gifted & Talented Resource Center to create a menu of program options,

  2. taking advantage of powerful learning tools made available through Instructional Technology Integration Programs and the School Library System, and

  3. offering teachers quality professional development opportunities through our School Development Services.

Action Plan:

             2006/2007          Initiation
             2007/2008          Implementation
             2008/2009          Impact

During the initiation phase, we have been working on needs assessment, partnership building, grant writing, and program development.

During the implementation phase, we will use a process of formative evaluation to guide our program development. A key factor in this process is the feedback of the stakeholders.

During the impact phase, we will conduct a summative evaluation and determine the future direction of the Language and Culture Resource Center.
