Bliss White
McIntosh -
Bliss White
McIntosh lives in Cambridge, New York with her
husband, Robbie. She grew up in Cambridge,
attended Cambridge Central School and Wesleyan
University. She has made her living as a musician,
craftsperson and teacher and, now, as a
gardener. Bliss makes a traditional style of black
ash splint baskets, as well as birch bark
containers and was a founding member of the Valley
Artisans' Market in Cambridge. She works in area
schools as a visiting artist in basketry and
teaches private music lessons. In the past Bliss
taught in the Young Scholars program of BOCES and
gave several seminars for the Elder Hostel
program. She served on the board of the Cambridge
Central School for six years. She has served
several terms on the board of Hubbard Hall
Projects and the Village Store Coop. She is the
volunteer mentoring coordinator for the Cambridge
Community Mentoring Program. Bliss and her husband
are volunteers for Hospice of Washington County
as musicians. For the past three years she has
been the head gardener at a large estate in
Cambridge, managing extensive grounds and a
conservatory.
