A total of 182 accomplished students from the Southern Adirondack Education Center (SAEC) in Hudson Falls and the F. Donald Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) this spring. The Southern Adirondack ceremony took place on April 29, 2025, followed by the Myers Center celebration on May 1, 2025. Family, friends, faculty, staff, and members of the WSWHE BOCES Board of Education were in attendance to honor the inductees’ achievements.
The National Technical Honor Society recognizes high-achieving students enrolled in occupational, vocational, and technical education programs across the country. The organization promotes ideals such as honesty, service, leadership, and skilled craftsmanship. Its mission is to celebrate student excellence, support educational and career goals, and build awareness among business and industry leaders about the value of technical education.
To qualify for induction, students must be nominated by their teachers and maintain a minimum average of 94 in their Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, along with a 90 average in English Language Arts or Math.
In addition to academic excellence, this year’s inductees exemplified community spirit. For the past two years, NTHS students from SAEC have collected cans and bottles around campus to raise funds for a charitable cause. After a vote, students chose to donate the proceeds to the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund, a local organization that provides vital support to WSWHE BOCES students - including scholarships, hygiene supplies, and even essential classroom gear like steel-toe boots.
