Celebrating Women in Technology
With more than 20 years of being a licensed teacher, 15 years as as Cisco Netacad Instructor and a multitude of certifications, including Network+ and Cisco CCNA, Laura Aronson is an amazing IT Instructor and Cisco Netacad Academy Instructor with the Early College Career Academy, a partnership between WSWHE BOCES and the college of SUNY Adirondack.
In 1992, Laura was asked by her Principal if she would consider becoming a Cisco Networking Instructor. During training for Cisco Networking, she fell in love with the curriculum, equipment and the changing technology.
What I love is that, “The field of Information Technology is always changing. This creates a challenging environment for instructors who teach and I am drawn to a challenge.” said Laura.
When asked what advice she would give to women looking to get into technology, Laura said, “We need you. There is a shortage of females in this field. Most people assume IT is for males, but females are just as smart, if not smarter.”
