(Any Advisor can be shared between two staff members. The stipend is then split evenly with both staff.)

Qualifications: 

REQUIREMENTS:

As per Faculty Unit Negotiated Agreement; Article 10.8

Organizations must establish an extra-curricular account, elect officers, adopt a constitution or statement of purpose and be authorized by the BOCES. The successful candidate must be actively employed during the period of appointment from September 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
 
Log of student activities must be submitted and authorized for payment and stipend.
 
Responsibilities:
POSITION FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the Head Advisor, the Honor Society Advisor will organize a non-profit, honor organization for students enrolled in career and technical programs. This organization will provide recognition for outstanding students enrolled in career and technical programs and serve to strengthen the image of technical education.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Promote service, leadership, honesty, career development and skilled workmanship.
  • Reward student achievement.
  • Encourage and assist student educational and career goal setting.
  • Develop a yearly program of work that aligns with the National Technical Honor Society charter promoting an orientation of service to family, school and community.
  • Develop, maintain and revise a process for the election of officers on a yearly basis. (fall)
  • Coordinate the nomination of students, in concert with the program staff and component school districts.
  • Plan and oversee the annual induction ceremony.
  • Maintain and oversee the extra-curricular account associated with yearly activities and the induction ceremony.
  • Promote the ideals established in the charter for the National Technical Honor Society.

 

AUTHORITY

Organize honor students, develop and implement procedures to meet the responsibilities described above.
