Responsibilities:
 
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: 

This is a technical position focused on adapting microcomputers to department and user needs. Working with various departments as needed, the incumbent works on problem definition to implementation and support for the system designed. The work includes the application of both hardware and software to meet the specific needs of the department. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Either:
(A) Graduation from a New York State registered two-year college university with an Associate's of Science in Computer Science or related field; OR
(B) Two years of full-time paid experience in personal computer system analysis and/or adapting software for users; OR
(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).

Should no certified list be available, candidates appointed to this position will be serving in a provisional appointment in accordance with New York State Civil Service Law. The candidate must successfully complete a competitive examination and be eligible for appointment in accordance with Civil Service Law and the Civil Service Rules for Washington County to obtain a permanent appointment.
