Responsibilities: 
 
The purpose of the extended school year program is to prevent student regression by providing consistency and continuity in special education services. All full-time positions will be filled before considering part-time applicants.
 
EFFECTIVE DATES:
Mandatory Staff Orientation:   June 29, 2022 (Wednesday)
Program Dates:      July 5, 2022 through August 12, 2022

15 or 16 Day Work Options (Must work either Option #2 or Option #3 in its entirety) 
 
ESY Employment Options: 
OPTION #1 -
    • June 29, 2022 (Mandatory Orientation Day) + July 5, 2022 through August 12, 2022
    • Total of 30 workdays.

OPTION #2
    • June 29, 2022 (Mandatory Orientation Day) + July 5, 2022 through July 22, 2022
    • Total of 15 workdays. 
OPTION #3
    • June 29, 2022 (Mandatory Orientation Day) + July 25, 2022 through August 12, 2022
    • Total of 16 workdays.

Leave Without Pay will not be granted.
 
Staff must be in attendance for Staff Orientation and the first and last days of the program for each option.

During Staff Orientation Day, schedules will be established and staff are expected to set up classrooms. This is voluntary employment which requires a commitment from all applicants to attend all days in the option above including the orientation day.

Appointments will be made pending enrollment confirmation.

Some positions may be filled on a per diem substitute basis pending final enrollment confirmation.
 
 
 
Qualifications:
 
 
 
Teachers and Related Service Providers: must be NYS certified or able to meet SED certification requirements.
Teaching Assistant: Must be NYS certified. For new hires, preference will be given to candidates with 60 credit hours or Associates Degree and able to meet SED certification requirements.
Teacher Aide: must have a high school diploma.
Civil Service: must hold registration certificate and meet Washington County Civil Service requirements.
