The Learning Technology Service, in partnership with the Model Schools Program, promotes the successful implementation of the New York State Learning Standards, which have been adopted by the region as the Common Learning Objectives. The aim of Learning Technology is to further the integration of instructional technology into the curriculum to support student achievement in all standards areas.
A Technical Advisory Group (TAG) composed of school district technologists, advises the BOCES on the development of technology initiatives in the region. The committee meets monthly throughout the school year to review emerging technology and develop a regional standard for desktops andlaptops.
The Learning Technology Base Service provides school districts with assistance in technology planning and implementation, equipment acquisition, data transport, technology support, fixed asset management, and network administration. A regional Technology Support Center (Help Desk)provides districts with assistance and tracking of technology and phone related hardware and software issues.
Shared Technology Support Staff (LAN Technicians) assist districts with the operation and maintenance of their Local Area Networks.
