3rd Annual Autism Walk Set for Tuesday

April is National Autism Awareness Month and students in the Special and Alternative Education program at the Southern Adirondack Education Center have coordinated a few fundraising efforts to promote autism awareness. Proceeds will benefit the Greenwich Chapter for Autism Awareness.
On Tuesday, April 28, students will participate in the 3rd Annual Autism Walk, a one-mile walk on the track behind the school’s campus. The morning walk for Career and Technical Education program students will begin from Building K immediately following a brief ceremony by BEARS students at 9:30 a.m. The Special Education program students will meet at 10:15 a.m. on the track. The afternoon walk for CTE students will begin at 1:25 p.m. behind Building K.
Students in the Life Skills and BEARS (BOCES Educating Autism-Related Students) programs created puzzle pins that they are selling for $1 and T-Shirts for $7 each. Tiffany Perkins, a cosmetology student designed the front of the shirt.
