Visit the BOCES Booth at LocalFest Saturday September 26
Wednesday, September 09, 2015
Stop by and visit the WSWHE Booth at LocalFest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, September 26 at the Shirt Factory at the corner of Lawrence and Cooper Streets in Glens Falls.
In keeping with the manufacturing and locally made theme of the event, our booth will have information on Adult Continuing Education courses along with the two SUNY Adirondack Career Academy programs: Information Technology/Networking and Advanced Manufacturing.
Those college-credit programs offer training to high school students interested in pursuing a career in the world of manufacturing. Click here
for more information on the programs.
What is LocalFest?
LocalFest is a celebration of all things locally made!
This building was once home to the McMullen-Leavens Company, one of the nation’s greatest shirt and dress manufacturers. Today more than 80 artists and artisans’ studios, shoppes, and galleries continue this tradition of excellence at The Shirt Factory!
Glens Falls is truly a unique city in that it has a strong history of manufacturing that continues to contribute to and shape the community. The current national trend of shopping locally is embodied by communities like Glens Falls which not only features many independent businesses but also boasts a number of manufacturers who create value right here in the City, just as the McMullen-Leavens Company did from 1902 to 1976.
