Cosmetology Students Raise Funds for Classmate

Monday, February 29, 2016

news_images

The cosmetology students at the Southern Adirondack Education Center raised $660 by donating the money earned by providing services at an open clinic on February 26. They also sold beaded necklaces and headbands that they created.

The fundraising effort was for their fellow cosmetology student, Kasey Sisco, a senior in Hudson Falls High School who has been diagnosed with leukemia.

All proceeds will be donated to the South Glens Falls Marathon Dance, where Kacey is one of this year's recipients.

In addition, the SAEC cosmetology students will join the cosmetology students from the F. Donald Myers Education Center at the 39th Annual South Glens Falls Marathon Dance on Friday, March 4 in the South Glens Falls High school gym to braid all the dancers’ hair for the dance. They'll also be selling beaded headbands and necklaces.
