Thursday, May 24, 2018
Bailey Carey, a senior in the CTE Culinary Arts program, was honored at the Saratoga County School Board Association Student Awards Dinner on May 14. She was one of eleven students to receive an award.
Bailey, along with her hard work in the Culinary Arts program at the F. Donald Myers Education Center, has demonstrated a very strong commitment to her community. For her Girl Scout Capstone Project, Bailey took part in building a garden at the Dorothy Nolan Elementary School. Her volunteer work with the Key Club involved assembling and donating more than 100 Thanksgiving baskets for Kiwanis over the past two years. Bailey has had the opportunity to participate in several culinary activities outside of the school day, which include preparing and serving meals at the Annual Hospice Dinner, Breakfast with Santa, and St. Patrick’s Day Dinner at the Senior Center.
Bailey is a hard worker and a positive leader who really makes a difference in our community. She plans to continue her culinary studies at Johnson & Wales in the fall.
