Cosmetology Students Donated to South High Marathon Dance to Help Classmate
Tuesday, March 08, 2016
So proud of our cosmetology students who contributed $2,079 to help the South High Marathon Dance reach its amazing total of $762,153 as well as helped their fellow classmate, Kacey Sisco.
Kacey, a student from Hudson Falls High School, is in the cosmetology program at the Southern Adirondack Education Center. She was diagnosed with leukemia and was one of this year's marathon dance recipients.
At the marathon dance, cosmetology students from both the Southern Adirondack and F. Donald Myers Education Centers joined together to braid hair, give manicures, sell beaded necklaces and headbands that they created, and paint faces. In addition, cosmetology students at the SAEC held an open clinic on February 26 where they raised $660 that helped them reach their fundraising goal.
