A group of Myers Center students had the opportunity to watch and analyze the live theatrical production of “Blue Sky Boys” at Capital Repertory Theater in Albany, thanks to a generous grant from Capital Region BOCES.
The students, who are in the Therapeutic Support Program South, had pre- and post-lessons relating to the show. “It was an amazing experience all around,” enthused one of the English language arts (ELA) teachers in the program, Georgianna Bull. She explained, “’Blue sky thinking’ involves thinking outside the box. Prior to going to the show, our science teacher, Mrs. Meeker, asked students about the concept of ‘blue sky thinking’ and how important it was in their daily lives. Then, as an ELA assignment, we asked the students to write critical reviews of the play, using a basic formula that real theatre critics use.”

Capital Region BOCES is also providing tickets for the next field trip back to Capital Rep to see "Trip To Bountiful."
