Exceptional Learners #MASKUP

Because of COVID-19 many students in the Exceptional Learners Program at the F. Donald Myers Education Center are disappointed about not trick or treating this year. School policy does not allow for students to wear costumes to school on Halloween either.

“I could see that some of the students were disappointed, ” said School Social Worker Miriam Davis-Doern. She came up with an idea that could provide a way to help students make a "costume" they can wear at school on Halloween, express themselves and their individuality, cheer everyone up, and also help students keep themselves and the school community safer.

Students spent the last few weeks working on these masks by decorating white cotton masks with t shirt markers to wear on Halloween. They are also contributing to the WSWHE BOCES  school wide campaign #MASKUP.

Check out their masks in this short video.
