District Superintendent Dexter Honored By CASDA With NSDC Cooperative Leadership Award

Mr. Dexter served for six years on the CASDA Executive Committee. During his time as a member of the Executive Committee he served as Committee Chair. Mr. Dexter partnered with CASDA to establish a satellite office at WSWHE BOCES providing an opportunity to better serve the 31 districts in the BOCES. Under his leadership, BOCES convened a committee including representatives from CASDA and SUNY Plattsburgh to create the “Pathways to Leadership Program”. This partnership has provided two cohorts of educators with an opportunity to explore their interest in pursuing a leadership career.

According to Dr. Michael Piccirillo, Executive Director of the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA), “Jim Dexter is a collaborative and thoughtful leader who has played an integral role in the evolution of the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA) as a study council affiliate of NSDC”. Additionally, Dr. Piccirillo noted, “Mr. Dexter is retiring from public education at the end of the 2021 - 2022 school year. It would be fitting to recognize his professional accomplishments and contributions to CASDA”.
