Summer with Cosmetology - Fun Hands-on Learning for Kids

  • Saratoga Springs Public Library - July 10th & 24th 10-11:30 am
  • Crandall Public Library - July 12th 9:30 - 10:30 am
  • Glens Falls Family YMCA - July 19th & 26th 10-11:30 am

During the sessions, participants will be doing simple braided hair styles with accessories, as well as basic face painting. CTE students will assist participants with styling mannequins. Adult supervision is required.


Two additional events will be held at the Southern Adirondack Education Center, 1051 Dix Avenue in Hudson Falls. Adult supervision is required. On July 13th, 9am-11am, Style My Doll Day will take place. This is another free event geared towards 5 to 12 year olds. Children can bring their dolls and cosmetology students will help them create the latest hairstyles. 


On July 17, 12-2pm, cosmetology students will host Basic Eye Makeup for Tweens & Teens, also at the Southern Adirondack Education Center, located at 1051 Dix Avenue in Hudson Falls. The fee for this session is $3 to cover supplies. Cosmetology students will demonstrate how to creatively apply basic makeup, such as mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow for a simple glow up. If your tween or teen is into mascara or winged eyeliner, this class is for them.


The Cosmetology program is a two-year, 1000 hour program dedicated to preparing students for current and emerging careers in the professions of natural hair styling, esthetics, nail specialty, cosmetology. It combines crucial elements of art, science, technical skills, interpersonal skills, and entrepreneurship.

Adheres to all ethical and professional standards of the cosmetology industry.
