PTECH Summer Camp Ignites Student Potential Through Learning, Teamwork and Leadership

Designed to introduce students to the foundations of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), the camp also emphasizes the core values of teamwork and respect. The experience marks an important milestone in the six-year PTECH journey, which provides students with the practical skills, college coursework, and industry certifications needed to pursue rewarding careers in technology-driven fields.

For students entering 9th grade, Summer Camp began with an energizing team-building event followed by “Challenge Course I,” a SUNY Adirondack college course that helps students grow their confidence, collaboration and leadership skills. Afternoons were spent diving into hands-on technical courses focused on Advanced Manufacturing and IT Networking - areas critical to the local and national workforce.

Students entering 10th grade advanced to “Challenge Course II”, continuing their leadership development while further deepening their technical skills.

Throughout the week, campers enjoyed lunch at the SUNY Adirondack student center and had the opportunity to experience campus life firsthand - an important part of PTECH’s early college model.

By the end of the week, each participant had not only earned one college credit but had also gained confidence, built meaningful connections, and discovered new possibilities for their future.

PTECH is more than a program, it’s a launchpad for success in today’s technology-based workforce. And for these young students, Summer Camp is just the beginning.
