More than 1,500 students from 22 school districts attended the event. Students in grades eight through 12 from across the WSWHE BOCES service area explored the world of work in the local region, gaining exposure to a wide range of career opportunities available close to home.
Nearly 100 booths featured businesses, Career and Technical Education programs, Early College Career Academy pathways, colleges, nonprofit organizations, unions, apprenticeship cooperatives and more. Each exhibitor provided students with opportunities to learn about classroom-to-career pathways and the skills and training needed for success in today’s workforce.
Students and instructors from a variety of WSWHE BOCES programs also participated by hosting booths and engaging directly with attendees. They shared firsthand experiences, answered questions and discussed the value of their programs with prospective students.
Event sponsors included Global Foundries, Saratoga City Center, Saratoga County, SEDC, CTMale, Paul Smith's College, Saratoga Honda, DA Collins, Glens Falls Hospital, Crisafulli Bros, Hollingsworth & Vose, CS Arch, Home of the Good Shepherd, Munter and TCT Federal Credit Union.
“It’s about providing students with the spark they need to turn interests into careers,” said District Superintendent Dr. Turina Parker. “By connecting directly with experts and diving into hands-on experiences, students have the chance to see where their talents can take them. We remain deeply committed to staying future-focused, ensuring every student in our region has access to multiple pathways and to the high-quality training and networking required to succeed in the modern workforce.”
