Skills in Action: WSWHE BOCES Students Earn Regional Recognition from SkillsUSA

This event brings together top students from technical schools across northeastern New York to demonstrate their skills in a variety of career fields. Participants are evaluated not only on technical ability, but also on essential workplace skills such as communication, professionalism, and problem-solving. Each competition includes a timed, hands-on component and is judged by industry professionals.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. It is a national nonprofit organization devoted to rewarding students for excellence, for involving industry in directly evaluating student performance and in keeping career training relevant to employers’ needs. 

Students who earned top placements will advance to the New York State SkillsUSA Championships in April.
