First-place winners were:
- Isabella McMahon from Glens Falls in the Culinary Arts & Hospitality program winning the Culinary Arts Award
- Aubrey Spory from Argyle in the Health Occupations program winning the Nurse Assisting Award
These students qualified to advance to the national SkillsUSA Championships, which will take place in June in Atlanta, Georgia.
Skye Hodgson from Indian Lake in the Culinary Arts & Hospitality program was named NYS SkillsUSA Area 3 Vice President. Kaleb Baldwin from Glens Falls in the Culinary Arts & Hospitality program was named NYS SkillsUSA Officer at Large and Charlie Wright from Saratoga Springs in the Criminal Justice program was named NYS National Delegate.
Matt White from South Glens Falls and Kaesen Dudley from Hudson Falls, both Culinary Arts & Hospitality program students, received the title of Models of Excellence Competitor. This title represents a student from one of the top 24 chapters nationwide, recognized for exceptional integration of the SkillsUSA Framework (personal, workplace, and technical skills) into their chapter activities. They are recognized for leading student-driven projects and demonstrating high levels of professionalism, teamwork, and leadership.
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization that empowers students to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible citizens. By engaging industry professionals in the evaluation process, SkillsUSA ensures that student training aligns with current workforce needs. This year’s theme, “Champion Your Future,” builds upon the rich tradition of competition to include their shared purpose of securing bright and fulfilling futures for all students.
