Students from more than 20 programs were celebrated for earning industry certifications and career-ready skills that will prepare them for success in high-demand fields across the region and beyond. Represented programs included, welding, heavy equipment operation & maintenance, criminal justice studies, construction trades, environmental conservation & forestry, cosmetology, and more.
Dr. Turina Parker, WSWHE BOCES district superintendent, spoke about the important role Career and Technical Education students will play in shaping the future.
“You are the ones who keep our lights on, who keep our community safe, our bodies healthy, and our infrastructure moving. You are uniquely qualified to change the world. Because CTE has given you something truly special, the power to help people when they need it most,” said Dr. Parker.
Student speaker Aazrum Tarar of Lake George, a student in the New Visions Health Careers Exploration program, reflected on how CTE provides students with opportunities to gain real-world experience while still in high school.
“We don’t dip our toes into our careers. We dive straight in. We practice responsibility, the way it will be expected of us when we are trusted with real tools, real environments and real lives," said Tarar. “While we prepare for the world, we participate in it.”
Through strong partnerships with local employers and industry leaders, students gain hands-on experience, mentorship and workplace connections that help bridge the gap between the classroom and career. These collaborations ensure graduates leave SAEC prepared to enter the workforce, continue their education and meet the needs of in-demand industries.
For family and friends unable to attend in person, the event was live streamed to celebrate the Class of 2026 from afar.
