Supplies are not included in tuition costs and must be purchased no later than the first week of August to be sure you have them by the first day of school. *Some items may have tax.

All textbooks, electronic learning systems and BLS CPR are included in the tuition.

Cost for background check is the responsibility of the student.
(The cost of the background check is approximately $136. Students will receive directions on how to complete the background check after they have passed the interview and received a "conditional acceptance" into the program.

Financial Aid Options

There are a variety of financial aid options available to students who enter the practical nursing program.

 

Federal Financial Aid is available in the form of Pell, SEOG and Direct Federal Student Loans. Students must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be eligible for federal aid. Students interested in applying for federal direct student loans must complete, on line, entrance counseling and a master promissory note.

Dave Goyette Memorial Vocational Scholarship
The Dave Goyette Memorial Vocational Scholarship was created to help students pursuing a certificate or degree in vocational education that reside in Schenectady County.

Nurses Scholarship Program - NYS
NYS has created Nurses for Our Future Scholarship opportunities.
This info is specifically for students continuing on with their education at SUNY or CUNY in Nursing.

Workforce Development Board’s Rural Healthcare Grant
The Workforce Development Board’s Rural Healthcare Grant aims to serve some unemployed and underemployed residents across 17 counties of Upstate New York. Students attending training in any healthcare field may be eligible for scholarships for tuition or training costs.

This grant aims to increase the number of individuals training in healthcare occupations that directly impact patient care and alleviate healthcare workforce shortages by creating sustainable employment and training programs in healthcare occupations serving rural populations.
