Technology Offerings for Component School Districts 

The WSWHE BOCES School Support Services division offers a wide range of instructional technology services designed to assist member districts with all aspects of implementing technology initiatives. This includes the purchasing of instructional hardware and software, technology installation, network design and maintenance, security system and VOIP implementations and in-district technology support. The Learning Tech Department also hosts regular regional Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meetings for sharing of best practices among district technology leaders.

IT Purchasing

Our full service purchasing department includes initiating contact with vendors to obtain quotes, generating purchase orders, accepting delivery in our warehouse, asset tagging, delivery, and pickup/disposal of obsolete technology.   This department also assists member school districts with e-rate project planning and implementation.

Technology/AV Security Services

Our “Tech Services” department provides on-site installation and repair of network cabling, Interactive Display Panels/Whiteboards/Projector Systems, video security and physical access control systems, sound systems, centralized clock and bell systems and more. This service also provides general repair and maintenance for all types of school audiovisual and computer equipment (e.g. Chromebooks, iPads, computers, printers, multimedia projectors) performed by factory trained, certified technicians.

VOIP/Network Services

This service provides for a cost-effective network of voice and data communications for participating districts.  Services include pre-sales engineering through post-deployment support and maintenance of VOIP systems and design/configuration of computer wired and wireless networks. The service manages internal network switches, routers, wireless access points and firewalls. It proactively implements best practices to prevent network security issues. Leveraging the regional VOIP cluster this service also helps facilitate the design and deployment of lockdown alerting that integrates into physical security solutions.

Shared Technology Support

This service, which began over 20 years ago with one network analyst shared among school districts, has grown into an entire team of technology support specialists ranging from help desk technicians, network engineers and even Chief Technology Officer-level support.

Distance Learning

WSWHE BOCES coordinates the planning and implementation of a two-way interactive video/voice network that shares educational programs and staff development programs between two or more districts simultaneously. This service includes the coordination of instructional planning and scheduling, network activation and operation, telecommunications transport charges, teacher training, initiation of instructional programming, and live classroom and instructional technical support.
