Data Use Agreement

A Data Use Agreement has been signed between the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the New York State Department of Health. The purpose of the agreement is to improve the accuracy of COVID-19 reporting data to the School Covid Report Card dashboard and to aid local health departments in contact tracing as required by Executive Order 202.62. The information provided by NYSED will include name, birthdate and school location (BEDS code) in order to identify the schools of attendance or employment for students and staff. The use of this database is intended to reduce errors in reporting and duplications due to overlapping regions, zip codes, and school addresses. Data will only be used for the purpose of complying with Executive Order 202.62 and the database information will be deleted within 60 days of the completion or termination of Executive Order 202.62.
