Job Description: 
 
FUNCTION:  The Dean of Students functions to support the building principal in the day to day operations and support of students. 
 
• Full-time
• School Calendar, 5 working days prior to the start of the school year and 5 working days after the end of the school year, as approved by the Building Principal.
• The positions will begin on or about August 18, 2025 (or earlier) and end on or about June 30, 2026.
• Hours: 7:30am to 3:30pm
• Locations:
  MYERS -  1 Position
  SAEC - 1 Position
  SSTLC- 1 Position
• Salary: Teacher Salary (as per contract), plus stipend $8,250, subject to Board approval.
 
Responsibilities:
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serves as a mentor/coach for staff to support students.
  • Collect and analyze data to develop support plans for students. Work with staff to identify key areas of concern and intervention. Assist in the planning, developing, and implementing of student support plans in conjunction with classroom staff.
  • Support building principal in planning and implementing all facets that lead to a better educational program for all students. 
  • Assist in monitoring and supervision of school facilities. 
  • Build capacity for classroom and campus wide implementation of student support strategies. Collaborate with staff on ways to support students
  • Communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds 
  • Effectively communicate in oral and written form. 
  • Monitor the reporting of student concerns
  • Counsel students and parents about school and district policies
  • Assist staff and parents in developing student behavioral expectations,  
  • Assist in the orientation of faculty and staff 
  • Perform such record keeping functions as the principal may direct 
  • Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as directed by the Principal 
  • Serve as a Dignity Act Coordinator
 
AUTHORITY:
• The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Principals for CTE and Principals for Special Programs.
