Nineteen staff were honored in a retiree recognition ceremony on May 13 at the Ballard Road Conference Center, which also had a virtual option so family members and guests could participate. Collectively, the staff members served 405 years to WSWHE BOCES.

May 5 was a perfect launch date for Regents Math Teacher at the F. Donald Myers Education Center, Carly Edmans, to engage her students in quadratics. She had been looking for a hands on visual approach to illustrate angles of elevation. Stomp rockets proved to be just the thing. Edmans used a lesson from the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory at California Institute of Technology.
The F. Donald Myers Education Center inducted 53 members to the National Technical Honor Society at induction ceremonies held on May 4th & 5th. This year several smaller ceremonies were held in accordance with social gathering guidelines.

The last thing a runner wants to happen when they are hitting their pace is for a tree branch to fall on them, or to slip on the ice. Thanks to the Environmental Conservation and Forestry Student from the Southern Adirondack Education Center (SAEC), at least Granville CSD runners won’t have to worry about this. Career and Technical Education (CTE) students, have been working with the district to make improvements to the Granville High School cross country trail system.

At a time when skilled workers are in short supply, and college tuitions are rising, the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) division is preparing tomorrow’s skilled workforce today, despite COVID-19 limitations.
